| Effective July 1, 2003: SURETY (including licensees for Bail Bonds) Exemption for taking and filing Continuing Education credits will end for Surety only licensees using their licenses only for the purpose of Bail Bonds. Between July 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003 Surety licensees who were formerly exempt must take a minimum of 10 hours of Montana approved continuing education. Licensees will report those hours starting January 15, 2004. Failure to report continuing education hours by the reporting deadline, will cause the license to lapse. CASUALTY (including Pre-Paid Legal licensees) Exemption for taking and filing Continuing Education credits will end for Pre-Paid Legal licensees. Between July 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003 individuals with Pre-Paid Legal licenses must take a minimum of 10 hours of Montana approved continuing education. Licensees will report those hours starting January 15, 2004. Failure to report continuing education hours by the reporting deadline, will cause the license to lapse. INDEPENDENT ADJUSTER July 1, 2003, resident Independent Adjuster applicants will successfully complete an Adjuster examination before applying for a license. The license application fee will be $50.00. Non-resident Independent Adjuster applicants will provide a home state letter of certification with the Adjuster application. |
